How Maria Jencel Promotes 112 for Broken Hearts

Maria Jencel, host of 112 for Broken Hearts, has grown her show by using Podimo’s affiliate program with a smart, personal approach to promotion.

How do you typically promote a new episode?

Promotion starts for me when I write the episode description. I try to spark curiosity without giving away the plot. It's important that both my podcast and promotional material are recognizable — it creates a sense of ritual for my listeners.

I only actively promote on Instagram because that’s where my audience is. I do repost on TikTok, but I don’t create platform-specific content.

My affiliate link is visible in every episode description, in my bio on social media, and across all platforms where my podcast is available.

What has worked especially well for you?

Being transparent works really well for me. I openly tell my followers that using my Podimo link supports me financially. They get it — this is how I can continue producing the show — and they respond really positively.

What kind of content generates the most clicks?

Instagram Stories, definitely. They generate the most clicks because the format is quick, personal, and easy for people to take action on.

Have you collaborated to reach more listeners?

My guests are amazing at helping share the episodes they appear in. I don’t send them my affiliate link directly — I just tag them in my posts and hope they’ll share.

Collaborating with other podcasters has also been valuable — whether they’ve been guests on my show or I’ve appeared on theirs.

What’s your best advice for other creators?

Take pride in every episode. Set clear goals — for the show and financially. Ask yourself: how much do I need to earn to keep this going?

Check your data regularly — maybe monthly or after each episode — and use it to learn what’s working.

Engage with your listeners. Ask questions, listen to their feedback, and apply it. That interaction is where success is built.
